The Maynard in Grindleford is continuing to offer a really interesting range of events, designed to provide an entertaining evening out for diners, whilst often also raising funds for local charities. Any rugby fans should make a note of their latest celebrity charity evening, which is scheduled for December 6th, as former England Rugby Union captain Bill Beaumont will be the key guest and speaker. In the city centre, Cubana also have a sizzling evening of Samba and more on offer at their ‘Casa de Musica’ Brazilian evening on Sunday 7th October. The £5 entrance fee will be waived for any diners who pre-book a table, so get in touch with them soon if you want to take advantage of this offer.

Just up the road from Cubana, Trippets wine bar has been given a stylish makeover, with new interior fittings and colour scheme. It has changed ownership and will be offering a wide range of wines and champagnes, plus straight forward lunch time meals.
There is still just time to register for the The Restaurant Show 2007, which will be held at Earls Court London from 8th – 10th October this year. If you already work in the restaurant business or it’s something that you fancy doing one day, this show is has a wealth of information and ideas. At present, it’s possible to get free entry if you pre-register in advance, otherwise it is £20 on the door.
