The Mogul Room on Sharrowvale Road has added some extra spice to the latest fundraising drive of Sheffield Children’s Hospital as they aim to raise more than £75,000 for a new DXA scanner, which is vital in the diagnosis of bone disease.
The award winning restaurant hosted a curry buffet with a prestigious raffle and the event raised more than £1,370 for the Scanner Appeal.
Mo Khan, manager of The Mogul Room, which was recently awarded the best Indian restaurant title in Sheffield by Westside magazine, said: “The evening was a great success – there wasn’t an empty seat left in the whole restaurant and everybody enjoyed themselves whilst raising money for a great cause.
Fran Hunt, fundraiser for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, said: “This was a perfect evening, raising lots of money for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity over a fantastic Indian meal! Mo was a great host and everybody who attended was so generous. On behalf of all the young patients who will benefit from the fundraising, the Charity would like to extend its sincerest thanks to Mo, all the staff and everybody who joined us on the night.”

The Runaway Girl restaurant underwent a revamp last week, as Gordon Ramsay spent the week there, helping to transform the place into a Modern British restaurant and bar. The makeover was filmed as part of the famous ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ series, which is headed by the Gordon Ramsay and sees him giving advice and inspiration to help restaurateurs reach new heights.
The newly launched restaurant is called Silversmiths.
Meanwhile, a new concept in lunch time eating has also been launched in the Burngreave area of Sheffield, within reach of city centre workers looking for somewhere cost effective and speedy to eat at midday. The Curry Canteen on Dorking Street is offering diners three different curries plus rice for just £3.50.
