Sheffield’s latest Mediterranean restaurant Ego now accepts on-line bookings, so you can make your table reservation at any time that is convenient for you. Ego is within the St Paul’s Hotel, so with tables overlooking the Winter Gardens, you can experience a little taste of the tropics whatever the weather. Cuisine is mainly Italian and Moroccan, with some French, Spanish and Greek dishes.
The Walnut Club have just relaunched their 5-10-5 menus, which give diners a starter and pudding for £5 each and a main course for just £10.
For those seeking a real bargain, they also have a Summer Sizzler menu, which lets diners enjoy two main courses for just £10, with choices including Sausage and Mash, Pan Fried Fishcakes and Yorkshire Blue and Pea Risotto. The Summer Sizzler is available from noon daily and up to 6:30pm on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Cubana, one of Sheffield’s favourite restaurants for Latin rhythms and tapas has recently picked up the ‘best night out 2009′ award from Sheffield’s lifestyle magazine, Westside. Judges highlighted Cubana as a restaurant ‘bursting with vibrancy, superb ambiance and excellent Spanish and South American tapas’, making it a firm favourite for foodies seeking a night with a difference.
Cubana have also been awarded top marks for their hygiene standards by Scores on the Doors which works with local councils to rate restaurants on their premises and food management practices.
Cubana are still running their popular ‘Happy Tapas Hour’ from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm with any 3 tapas for £9.95 or a set tapas menu at the discounted price of £12.95 per person.
Sheffield’s latest new restaurant Ego has now opened in the St Paul’s Hotel on Norfolk Street, adjacent to the Peace Gardens. Ego specialise in fresh Mediterranean style food and is part of a small chain of restaurants.
Special offers at the moment include their ‘Monday Offer’ of two courses and a bottle of wine for £17.50 per person.
Those looking for a bargain meal throughout the week will be pleased to hear that they also have a special fixed price menu of two courses for £11.95 or three courses for £13.95, which is available Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Saturday from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm and all day Sunday.
A special ‘Lunch Rapido’ menu offers diners one rapido meal, plus a drink for £7.95.
