From the start of this month, the Twisted Spoon – a brand-new café inspired by the classic British greasy spoon, but with more than a touch of the US deli-diner thrown in for good measure – will be open at the Harley, on Glossop Road.
The Twisted Spoon will be open for business six days a week, with a menu using hand picked ingredients, adapted to fit the seasons. Part of the fun will be the option to upgrade your fodder to a swankier version; so the lowly full English, one of the Harley’s menu staples, will also be available in a ‘gourmet’ version, complete with home-made speciality sausages, posh bread and other accoutrements.
It’s not just breakfast bangers though, but a host of cafe favourites like soups, burgers, pies and pickles, not forgetting the Harley’s speciality triple cooked chips.
Sounds like a good choice for a bit of comfort food to add a bit more insulation against the cold.

Great news for any fans of Cafe Rouge, as they are the latest Sheffield restaurants to join the on-line booking revolution, so you can now book on-line to have your breakfast, lunch or dinner at Cafe Rouge Ecclessall Road, or Cafe Rouge St Paul’s Place. The on-line booking service is free to use!

Otto’s Mediterranean restaurant on Sharrowvale Road have just let us know about two great offers they have running at the moment, so if you want to banish the winter blues, now is the time to treat yourself to a lovely meal.
The first offer is their Taste of Morocco, which is a two course meal and a glass of Moroccan wine for £14.95 per person, available Sunday to Thursday from 6pm.
For those that would prefer to give the main menu a try, Ottos are offering a 10% discount on their a la carte menu to diners who mention the Sheffschefs website when booking. This deal is also available from Sunday to Thursday from 6pm, for a maximum booking of 6 people.
The offers are running now, but do check when booking. Offers are not be available on February 14th or during the month of December and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offers.
