Christmas at Cubana

Cubana Tapas restaurants on Trippet Lane have now released their 2010 Christmas menus for early birds wishing to get ahead of the game with Christmas meal planning in Sheffield.

The daytime Christmas menu is £14.95 per person and the evening Christmas menu is £22.50 per person and each consists of a wide range of tapas dishes to share with your Christmas party companions.  A £5 deposit is required for each person booked and the Christmas deals are available between December 1st and December 30th.

Cubana restaurant helps raise £1,000 for Haiti

A recent fund raising event held by Cubana has raised nearly £1,000 for the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.  The Cubana staff are absolutely delighted and have offered their sincere thanks to every who attended to support the event and also to Helena and Nicolai, their resident Salsa dance teachers, who gave their time free of charge on the night.

Well done to Cubana and all the event supporters.

Mother’s Day at Sheffield restaurants

If you are still looking for somewhere nice to take your Mum on Sunday 14th March to celebrate Mother’s Day, the following Sheffield restaurants all have special deals and events.

Cafe Rouge on-line booking deals include a two course set meal for £15.95 or a three course set meal for £19.95 with some yummy sounding course options such as butterfly prawns cooked in garlic butter, pan fried duck breast and warm chocolate and walnut brownie.  Book a table at Cafe Rouge St Paul’s Place or book at table at Cafe Rouge Ecclesall Road.

The Walnut Club have a special Mother’s Day 3 course Sunday lunch set meal available for £25, which is available at both the Walnut Club restaurants and you can book a table on-line for Mother’s Day lunch at the Walnut Club Hathersage.

The Maynard at Grindleford has a very special Mother’s Day offer this year – the two AA rosette restaurant is supervised by head chef Ben Hickinson, who has devised a delightful menu, with starters such as ham hock ballontaine or wild mushroom ravioli, with white truffle and parmesan cream. Mains meanwhile, include traditional favourites such as roast beef and Yorkshire pudding with all the trimmings, or tempting alternatives such as herb crusted cod, complete with pomentier potatoes and Asian mushy peas!  The deal is three courses for £27.50 per person and all Mums will receive a complimentary special gift.

Cubana meanwhile, have an event with a difference on Sunday 14th March, which will see them host a Salsa Buffet Dance, a fundraising event in support of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal. It could be the perfect place to take Mums who like Latin rhythms, whilst also doing something positive to help those in need in Haiti.

Valentine’s Day at Sheffield restaurants

Cubana are now taking bookings for their Valentine’s Night special, which offers diners a deluxe tapas menu, accompanied by the romantic Flamenco melodies from musician Andrew Clegg. The price is £24.50 per person or just £17.50 per person for early diners eating between 5.00 – 6.00pm – early booking advised.

Ego the smart Mediterranean restaurant next door to the fabulous Winter Gardens has a special on-line booking offer for Valentine’s Day, consisting of a 3 course fixed price menu and a glass of Kir Royale for £24.95 per person. There are some lovely options on the Valentine’s menu, with starters such as grilled goat’s cheese with caramelised onions and toasted brioche, or a Spanish platter for two to share; plus main courses like sirloin steak, sea bass or baked aubergines.  All topped off with a choice of four yummy puddings.

Awards galore at Sheffield’s Cubana restaurant

Cubana, one of Sheffield’s favourite restaurants for Latin rhythms and tapas has recently picked up the ‘best night out 2009′ award from Sheffield’s lifestyle magazine, Westside.   Judges highlighted Cubana as a  restaurant ‘bursting with vibrancy, superb ambiance and excellent Spanish and South American tapas’, making it a  firm favourite for foodies seeking a night with a difference.

Cubana have also been awarded top marks for their hygiene standards by Scores on the Doors which works with local councils to rate restaurants on their premises and food management practices.

Cubana are still running their popular ‘Happy Tapas Hour’ from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm with any 3 tapas for £9.95 or a set tapas menu at the discounted price of £12.95 per person.
